Did you know that you can hire our lovely cinema on an exclusive use basis?

Invite your family and friends to enjoy a film in a private screening at the Robert Burns Centre. Share your love of film with your guests, with the auditorium all to yourselves.

The Robert Burns Centre is a perfect location for many events, from birthdays and anniversaries, hen parties and weddings, business presentations and more.

 Hires are available in two-hour slots plus you are welcome to set up 30 minutes before the start of the hire. You also have 15 minutes of clean-up time afterwards.

You are welcome to serve your own refreshments, or you can purchase 100ml tubs of Cream o’Galloway ice-cream (£2.50) and popcorn (£1.25 for a single bag, or £2.50 for a sharing bag).

Private Hire Pricing

Under copyright law, any screening of a film to a group of people requires licensing, regardless of whether they are a paying audience or not. 

If you wish to view a commercially available film, there are various options with different charges:

• Guest supplied commercially bought Blu-Ray or DVD:  £115

This includes a two hour hire of the auditorium (plus 30 minute set up and 15 minute tidy up) showing a film of your choice that you provide on DVD/BluRay.

Please note that under the terms of our licence, you are not able to advertise your event publicly or charge an admission price including donation requests. If you did want to advertise the event and charge admission, this would incur a higher fee.

If you wish to view a new release film, there are various options with different charges:

• Film already showing at the RBC Film Theatre: £517.50 

• Children’s Film already showing at the RBC Film Theatre: £258.75 

• New film release that is not in our programme: Priced by film – usually between £200 – £500

Please note – not all films are licensable for public / private showings, even if you supply the Blu-Ray or DVD. We will advise based on your title. Some films may also cost more than the stated range to acquire in DCP format. We will always confirm this cost with you before booking the title.

Terms & Conditions

• Payment terms: A non-refundable deposit of £50 within two weeks of confirmation of your booking.  If we have not received the deposit, we will release your reservation. The balance to be paid in full a week before the event. If the balance is not received when due, we will cancel the booking, and the deposit will be forfeit.

• Please help our staff tidy up afterwards. You are responsible for taking all your rubbish home.

• Maximum capacity - 69 seats. Fully accessible to 3 wheelchair users.

• For children’s parties, we recommend at least one adult per ten children.

• All bookings are subject to availability of our screen and working around our regular schedule commitments. Please note, December and January are particularly busy.
